The Kelowna Daily Courier reported that the Kelowna branch of the Canadian Home Builders Association is cheesed-off at the City for what it claims is creating obstacles to residential construction. Obstacles? What obstacles? Kelowna is the fastest growing city in B.C., so how can they complain about a slow approval process? Get this, in a news release the CHBA says "There appears to be an anti-construction, anti-development undercurrent at city hall, which is masked under the guise of 'sustainable' growth." What? Are we talking about the same city hall namely those people that put everything else on the backburner while they fast track certain development proposals such as Phil Milroy's Downtown Waterfront Village. I guess for some people enough is never enough. Do they call that greed?
