A major tourist attraction in Toronto and popular with locals as well is Kensington market, a year round farmers market with unique boutiques and entertaining buskers. The presence of this market has added a lot of local colour to the city. When the Gospel Mission is finally moved (did Walter Gray really say it would take two years? -- we need a new mayor!) and Leon Ave. is cleaned up (the needle exchange has to be move too!) and with all the businesses leaving this would be an ideal location for such a market in Kelowna. A Kensington or Lawrence (indoor) market would draw more people to the downtown to buy fresh local produce (I know I would go) and would help rejuvinate the downtown without highrises.
